One Stop Style

Whether you're long and lanky or sexy in your curves, Public I, a chic boutique that recently relocated from Lincoln Park to Wicker Park, knows what a girl wants. "We love it when customers ask for our opinions and to help dress them," says manager Heather Bruno. Owner Julia Knier's cozy store stocks an array of options, such as girly-girl dresses by Elizabeth Wayman; simple, adaptable separates by In the Now; and sweet and sexy looks from Notice... Guys get their due, too: Public I carries great casualwear for men, including button-down shirts by Oliver Spencer, Pusch, R. Scott French and J. Barnett; jeans by True Religion and Earl Jean, and fun cufflinks and watches by Simon Carter.

The Urban Hipster Tour

Public I, formerly of Lincoln Park, offers clothing for a variety of body types, not just the straight and narrow. Among the choices for women are Isda, Mario Balthazar dresses, How & Wen separates, and shirts by Nara Camicie, as well as Cosabella lingerie and jeans by Red Engine and Paper Denim & Cloth. Deconstructed classics from Oliver Spencer, generously cut clothes from Isda for Men, and fine-gauge whimsical T-shirts from Charizmatik anchor the men's section.
